Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere and it is rapidly reshaping our world. This course is designed to demystify AI with a focus on understanding what AI is, how to use it in everyday life, and how to critically evaluate and navigate AI hallucinations, biases and deepfakes. We will demonstrate the use of major AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, CoPilot, Perplexity and NotebookLM) and explore how they can be used for fun, creativity, learning, planning and support. Just as reading and writing were necessary to navigate the old world, AI literacy is required to navigate this new world. A class and resource library website will be available to supplement class activities. No technical expertise necessary.
