Join us in using Words From a Bear, an N. Scott Momaday documentary, to sample a kaleidoscope of Native American life. Each week, we’ll view a segment of the video to cover specific topics: Momaday’s Kiowa roots and culture; living in two worlds; government impacts like allotment, boarding schools and termination; protests, including Alcatraz and Second Wounded Knee; and Momaday’s career as a poet and Pulitzer Prize winning author. Momaday’s life, which ended this year at age 89, covers all these topics and more.
