This movie tour will have us visit Eastern Europe cinema. Our journey will take us to Germany, Russia, Czechoslovakia, Poland and Bosnia. We will discuss societies, directors, actors and genres in our analysis of the movies. Participants will watch films online through streaming platforms or on DVD and join a Zoom session for group discussions. Please watch Wings of Desire by Wim Wenders prior to the first meeting. It is currently available on MAX and the Criterion Channel, on Prime and Apple to rent. Prior to the first meeting, the coordinator will share any additional online resources and also make participants aware of potential changes to accessing the films.
Coordinator: John Stowe 
John has had a long career in the computer industry and has used movies to help see beyond the keyboard. He carried his love of movies into a study of movie history, techniques, genres and players during his retirement, particularly with foreign-language movies.
