ALL1500-C First 6 Weeks Tuesday 12:00-1:20 Start Date 15-Sep
Grossman 106 Limit 25
Before the British Invasion, before arena rock, before hip-hop—there were the girl groups. From the Chantels to Destiny’s Child, these ensembles defined pop music, shaped American culture, and told the truth about young women’s lives in three-minute masterpieces. This six-week course explores their music, their stories and the producers, songwriters and record labels who made them—and sometimes exploited them. No musical background required. Just bring your ears and your opinions.
Coordinator: Lew Taylor
