Reflections Submissions

What is Reflections? It is us! For 26 years members of ALL have shared the creative talents that are found in oldER age through word and art. Each year members of the ALL community bring poignant essays and short stories, touching poetry, compelling photography and art that reflects the interests, wisdom and experience that comes from years of experience.

Do you have a story, poem, you would like to share? A photograph or piece of art you would like to display for others to enjoy? Whether you have a creative aptitude, i.e. writing, watercolor, etc. or you have a predilection for the political, philosophical, community, etc., your voice is important. We each have something to say, and here in Reflections is your place to do just that. Take a chance on yourself. You have something to share, and we are here to

Past editions of Reflections have included stories and art covering topics such as humor, personal essay, nature, fiction/non-fiction short story, family. The list is endless of how you can share your creativity. Just were to start? Wonderful stories and poems come from writing prompts. Here are a few to ponder with the Muse.

Writing Prompts	Photography/Art Prompts
Write about a friend who has stood by you through difficulty. Write a scene from the perspective of a child. Describe a sunset from the point of view of a blind person. Write a letter to someone you will never meet, sharing one piece of wisdom or a story you’ve never told anyone else.	Something New – Photograph a new object, experience, or person. Minimalism – Use negative space and simplicity to tell a story. Your Everyday – Capture something you see every day in a new way. Movement – Freeze it or blur it, either way, capture the energy of motion.
